Youth ministry at St. Mary parish is in transitioning! We are excited about all the opportunities that God has provided for us this coming year. Lots of fun, service, bible study, and nerf guns await the lucky people who come to youth ministry this year. In previous years, middle schoolers and high schoolers were separated. Because of the change in our Religious Education program, we want to unite together to create a comprehensive youth program that fits all families. Both groups will come together to form “Divergent”. Divergent means to grow different from the rest. In the face of our society, popular culture has little to no expectations for the youth of today. Christ calls us NOW to rise above and ‘diverge’ from this mentality. Jeremiah 1:6-11 God says to the prophet Jeremiah,
“Do not say, “I am too young.”
To whomever I send you, you shall go;
whatever I command you, you shall speak.”
We regularly meet September-May in the Church Basement, also known as the youth center and we will meet Mondays from 6:15 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. We will separate groups age appropriately for small groups. We’re here for you and your students, if you have any questions, please contact me in the office, I’m always happy to help!
